Case IH Tractors in Uganda | Best #1 Farm Equipment | AGRISERV
We offer Post Hole Diggers (PSH) at AGRISERV Uganda stock points, delivering fast and accurate hole digging for fencing, landscaping, and agricultural work. The BALDAN PSH Tractor Soil Driller mounts easily on CASE IH tractors via the standard 3-point hitch and rear PTO, ensuring full compatibility with a wide range of CASE IH utility and farm tractors. Available in 9”, 12”, and 18” drill sizes, the PSH provides stable operation, strong torque transfer, and consistent performance for constructing fences, sheds, and farm structures.
| Model | Drill Diameter | Hole Diameter | Approx. Weight (kg) |
|---|---|---|---|
| PSH | Sem Broca | N/A | 144 |
| PSH | 9″ | 230 | 164 |
| PSH | 12″ | 310 | 172 |
| PSH | 18″ | 460 | 187 |
1) 3-point hitch (3PL) match
The PSH mounts on the tractor’s rear 3-point hitch.
Most CASE IH utility and larger tractors use Category I or Category II 3-point linkage.
If the PSH frame is Cat I and your tractor is Cat II (or vice versa), you can still fit it using approved hitch pins/bushings so the pin sizes and spacing match correctly.
2) PTO match
PSH diggers are typically driven by the tractor’s rear PTO (commonly 540 rpm on many utility tractors).
Compatibility means:
Your CASE IH tractor has the PTO speed required (usually 540).
The tractor’s PTO horsepower is within the safe working range for the auger size (9”, 12”, 18”).
3) Power and stability
Bigger augers need more torque and make the implement heavier on the rear.
Compatibility also depends on:
Tractor weight and wheelbase (stability)
Proper ballast (front weights if needed)
Strong lift capacity on the 3-point hitch
9” auger: Works well on most compact and utility CASE IH tractors with 3PL + 540 PTO.
12” auger: Best on utility tractors (more torque, better stability).
18” auger: Prefer heavier utility or higher HP tractors to avoid stalling, overheating driveline parts, or front lift.
3-point hitch category on your CASE IH tractor (Cat I or Cat II).
PTO speed on the tractor (540 is most common).
PTO horsepower (enough for the auger size and soil type).
Top link + stabilizers: tighten and align so the auger stays vertical.
Shear bolt / slip clutch on the driveline is in place and correct (this protects your PTO and gearbox when the auger hits rock/roots).
For hard, dry soils, murram, or rocky patches, you want:
a tractor with more torque,
correct shear bolt/slip clutch setup,
and steady PTO speed (do not overspeed).
This prevents breaking pins, twisting PTO shafts, and premature gearbox wear.
